ASEL Delivers Powerful Talk on Anti-Social Behaviour at Oasis Academy Clarksfield

The ASEL STEP UP Team Deliver Another Powerful School Talk

As part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement and crime prevention, the ASEL team recently visited Oasis Academy Clarksfield in Oldham to deliver an educational session on anti-social behaviour and theft.

ASEL STEP UP is a new initiative focused on tackling anti-social behaviour and youth violence. STEP UP is designed to Support communities suffering with anti-social behaviour, Tackle the issues head on, Educate young people in the consequences of partaking in ASB and Prevent it from happening in stores in the future.

The talk, aimed at helping young people understand the real-world consequences of certain behaviours, was delivered to students in a fun, interactive, and thought-provoking format. Our team shared real-life examples, explained the impact of anti-social behaviour on communities, and discussed how young people can make positive choices that keep themselves and others safe.

The session was designed to empower students with knowledge and awareness, encouraging them to think about their own actions and the importance of personal responsibility, both in and outside of school.

Rob Cook, Head of Guarding, led the session and said:

“We believe in prevention through education. By engaging with young people early, we can help them make better decisions, avoid risk, and understand the wider impact of their choices. It’s about creating safer communities for everyone.”

The visit was warmly received by staff and pupils alike. Zahra-Mae Mohamed, Assistant Principal of Inclusion, shared:

“The session delivered by ASEL was incredibly engaging and thought-provoking for our students. It opened their eyes to the real-life consequences of anti-social behaviour and theft in a way that was both relatable and respectful. The team connected brilliantly with the pupils, and the impact of the talk will stay with them for a long time.”

This event is part of ASEL’s wider mission to work collaboratively with schools, community organisations, and local authorities to tackle root causes of crime and build safer environments across the UK.
