ASEL Launches Anti-Social Behaviour Initiative with School Engagement in Market Deeping

As part of our commitment to reducing anti-social behaviour and theft involving school-age children, ASEL has launched a new community initiative focused on early intervention, education, and positive engagement.

This week, team members from the guarding operations pillar visited a local school in Market Deeping, Lincolnshire to speak directly with pupils, offering guidance and support in a safe and engaging environment.

Key Highlights from the Visit:

  • Rob Cook, Head of Guarding opened the session by sharing background on ASEL and the role our officers play in the community, particularly in promoting safety and prevention.

  • The pupils were actively engaged and responsive throughout, asking thoughtful questions and showing genuine interest.

  • Rob delivered a clear and impactful message: the choices we make when we’re young can shape our future, particularly around employment and opportunity.

  • A core part of the discussion focused on reframing the role of security officers, not just as authority figures, but as approachable adults who can offer support, especially if a young person feels pressured or unsure about a situation.

Positive Feedback from the School:

The Headmaster praised the session, calling it a valuable tool for early intervention and character development. He highlighted how meaningful it is for students to have visible, trusted adults outside of the school environment who they can turn to.

Rob Cook, Head of Guarding at ASEL, said:
“This initiative is about more than reducing incidents, it’s about building trust. If we can reach young people early and help them see that we’re here to support them, not just enforce rules, we can positively shape futures and strengthen communities. We’re proud to take this step forward in collaboration with local schools.”

This visit is just the start of our new anti-social behaviour initiative, which aims to foster stronger relationships with young people, schools, and communities across the regions we serve.

We’re proud to be taking proactive steps to make a difference, not just by protecting property, but by investing in the future of the communities we serve.
